We Reiterate Our Appeal to the Officers and Soldiers of the Syrian Army

We call on you, high ranking officers, officers, and soldiers of the Syrian Army, to leave the ranks, refrain from enlisting, or defect from the army.
Assad’s regime has betrayed Syria and turned the army against its own Syrian people, inciting widespread violence in our country and leaving over 15,000 martyred. As such, the Occupied Golan Heights have become the safest place in all of Syria.

The weapons you are using were paid for by the Syrian people. These weapons have contributed to severe tragedies, and are now lodged in the chests of your fathers, mothers, children, and sisters. These weapons have destroyed the homes and livelihood of your brothers across Daraa, Idlib, Lattakia, Deir Ezzor, Damascus, Homs, Hama, and Aleppo.

The regime’s cause is not about justice or patriotism. The regime wants to rule your country forever, while plundering its resources at the cost of its people. Bashar Al-Assad’s regime, along with his partners in the killing of Syrians, does not have any respect for you. To the regime, you are merely an armed human shield. They could careless about how many of you lose your life in their defense. From the Revolution’s beginnings, the regime’s shabiha and security forces have been monitoring your movements because of their distrust in you and they do not value your life.
This regime has inevitably fallen, and if you defect in greater numbers and sooner rather than later, you can spare Syria from further tragedies and pain. Syrian young men, defect from the regime’s sinking ship because the new Syria will need you to protect her along with her people and borders
