Security forces and shabiha kidnapped Adnan Khabbaz when he was on his way back from Fajr prayer at Wafaai mosque in Inshaat area. A few hours later his dead body was found near Tadmur square with a bullet in his head and traces of torture on his body. The late Adnan Khabbaz was an old man and he had nothing to do with any revolutionary activities at all.
