21 Martyrs in Syria 4-1-2012

The number of martyrs today increased to 21 of which 16 from Homs, 2 in Idlib and one martyr in each of Daraa, Damascus and Hama

Following a massive anti-regime demonstration this evening, security forces raided the Mufti area amid heavy gunfire and conducted an arrest campaign, capturing a number of youths and attempting to run over protesters to disperse them.

Intermittent gunfire by the regime’s army in the eastern part of the city.

An evening demonstration started, with female participation, where protestors chanted for the ouster of the regime. Security forces responded with tear gas to disperse the protest. People returned to gather for the second and third time, however, this time security forces responded with live ammunition. Many people suffered injuries and suffocation.

Homs: The political prisoners in the Homs Central Prison demonstrated in protest against the Prison’s Administration deluding the Arab League observers and taking prisoners to the Intelligence branch instead of their place in the Prisoners of Conscience section
