The number of martyrs in Syria has risen, thus far, to 25, including 1 woman, defected soldiers, and 1 martyr under torture. 8 martyrs were reported in Aleppo; 4 in Homs; 4 in the Damascus Suburbs (Daraya-Kesweh); 4 in Daraa, including 3 defectors from Jassem; 2 in Deir Ezzor; 2 in Hama; and 1 in Qamishly

Damascus: Dummar Projects: A general strike has just started to protest the regime’s gunfire to disperse a women’s sit-in in which participants demanded the release of detainees

Daraa: Jassem: All the soldiers stationed at a security checkpoint west of the city have defected. There are reports of heavy gunfire by regime forces, which resulted in a number of martyred (First Sergeant, an Officer, and Lieutenants) and wounded defectors

Deir Ezzor: Heavy gunfire was reported, and tanks are roaming the streets of Hajana

Since the regime’s acceptance of the Annan initiative, the LCC has documented the names of 800 martyrs, among them 31 women and 50 children (of these, 19 females and 31 males). These numbers were verified in the context of 2,400 breaches of the cease fire by the regime’s army and shabiha.

The LCC holds the regime fully responsible for the continued killing, and demands that the international community and the UN monitors place additional, more effective pressure on the regime to stop the killing. We also demand that the the victims not be placed in the same category as the killers when speaking about “parties to the conflict.” The discourse needs to revolve around a regime that kills its own people, who are demanding freedom, justice, and democracy.

Damascus Suburbs: Kanaker: Eight security agents defected at the checkpoint at the police station, and have safely escaped

Damascus Suburbs: Kanaker: Another defection has taken place among regime forces at the military base in the Al-Qasari area. Shabiha reinforcements continue to arrive to the base to contain the defections

Idlib: Saraqeb: 6 people were martyred when regime forces specifically targeted a bus near the city. The bus was transporting passengers

Deir Ezzor: Myadein: Security forces supported by cars launched a raid campaign in the city, included more than 50 houses amid destruction and sabotage process

Idlib: Maaret Nouman: Heavy gunfire was reported at the army checkpoints inside the city and at the bridge at State Security east of the city

Damascus Suburbs: Mudamieh: Two loud explosions were heard in al-Bahsas neighborhood. Security forces and shabiha vehicles are headed to the source of the explosion.

Aleppo: Northern Suburbs: Gunfire by Doshka machineguns and armored vehicles are targeting homes while surrounding Badnan and Hayyan areas.

Idlib: Areha: The regime’s army has renewed the shelling on the city using heavy machineguns. Regime forces stationed at the Recruitment Division and al-Tal checkpoints are firing indiscriminately towards the market, the commercial shops, and forcing residents to close their shops.

Homs: Hisn: Artillery, tanks and heavy machine guns shelling is reported in an attempt to storm the village, in addition to cutting off communications of the cellular company ( MTN) in Talkalakh

Damascus Suburbs: Kesweh: The disfigured corpse of a young man in Ain Al-Souda turned out to be that of Zeino Khalaf, a Golan Heights refugee who had been previously detained in a regime prison

Deir Ezzor: Tanks deploy and fire along Hajana Street

Homs: Rastan: Multiple wounded were reported, and snipers have deployed along the perimeter of the city

Idlib: Jisr Shoghour: The village of Bdama was stormed and explosions were reported, in addition to gunfire from machineguns in Bdama and Najeieh villages

Deir Ezzor: Mouhsen: Regime forces raided the home of retired General Brigadier Sukar Al-Ahmad Al-Mutrab
