Forces of the fascist regime in Syria committed today a new massacre that killed, thus far, over 220 martyrs in the town of Treimseh, west of Hama. A heinous criminal act was added to the regime’s track record of horrors which do not discriminate between a man, woman, or a child. The same methodology, tools and means as previous massacres was used: forces of the regime’s army shelled the town, Shabiha than stormed the town and killed and slaughtered individuals and then and burned the wounded and the bodies of the martyrs.
In the past few months, the regime has orchestrated and implemented gruesome massacres to send messages, with the blood of the Syrian people, to the international community in reaction to every move (by the international community) to escalate pressure against the regime.
With these massacres, the regime has also drawn a line of sectarian demarcation to leave Syrians terrorized from one another, create walls of fear and suspicion amongst them, and taint their children’s future with hatred and desires for revenge With this new massacre, the criminal regime imposes a double challenge on the people of Syria and the international community; it tests the Syrian people’s ability to make sacrifices and continue with their struggle on a daily basis in order to achieve the ultimate objectives of the revolution, freedom and dignity. It also tests their ability to distinguish the intentions of the regime as it drags the country into a civil war in order to protect its symbols from prosecution and makes murderers eligible for a role in the restructuring of the regime with the assistance of international and regional allies. These intentions have been embodied in the policies of the massacres. In regards to the international community, it tests the ability of the community and its organizations to meet their legal and moral obligations to the Syrian people and their ability to maintain the values of truth, justice and equality when dealing with gains and losses in international conflicts of interest.
Syrians today are called on to pay attention and be alert to what the criminal regime is doing to their revolution, community and their future state. They alone are the ones that will bring an end to the regimes failing attempts to divide and incite conflict within their society. They can achieve this by not succumbing to troublemaking impulses, from wherever they may arise.
The international community, its overseeing countries and relevant organizations are required, today, to take their responsibilities to the highest degree of determination to protect the lives of Syrian civilians, as is required by international laws and regulations.
We at the Local Coordination Committees in Syria, in response to the regimes criminality and in honor the innocent martyrs of Treimseh, call on our fellow revolutionaries, wherever they may be, to escalate all revolutionary activities in all of its various forms and to take note of the dangers that the regime’s plans pose for the future of our country. We ask that you rely on the abilities of the revolution’s youth first in order to reach our goal of overthrowing the regime of corruption and criminality and all of its symbols and pillars.
