The number of confirmed martyrs so far adds up to 70 men and one woman. 50 of the martyrs fell in Hama, 11 in Deir Ezzor, 6 in Daraa and 3 in Idlib, following demonstrations that set out in support of Hama and Deir Ezzor.

The regime begins the holy month with massacres fearing that it may fall at its end

Protesters had promised Syrian authorities to intensify protests in Ramadan and make it the regime’s last month. Today Syrian authorities responded to this promise with the only answer they have known since the beginning of the revolution, but in a more intense way. The regime actions today reflect a desperate will of suppressing the peaceful movement, or reflects a great fear and a internal confusion, especially after the latest splits within the army, which now are more than isolated individual cases.
Today, the regime randomly killed more than seventy Syrian citizens in the streets and inside, by using all kinds of light and heavy weapons, and after removing all barriers used by the population to protect itself from military armored vehicles and from the oppression of security forces. Hama was waiting for military troops deployed at its boundaries to sweep into the city for approximately three weeks. Hama had already sacrificed more than seventy martyrs in one Friday, when the army swept into the city for the first time two months ago.
In Deir Ezzor, which was first hit two days ago, several soldiers have defected and the number of defecting soldiers are increasing with the escalation of the regime’s forces’ violence, Also Al Harak, close to Daraa, witnessed an invasion since the beginning of the uprising 4 months ago, while Mouadamyeh, a Damascus suburb, was first invaded two months and a half ago, troops now are being moved between the many cities of Damascus Suburbs to defuse the demonstrations in the largest areas and the closest to the capital Damascus.
Even the cities whose people went out demonstrating in solidarity with their fellow citizens who are being randomly killed, were not saved from the regime’s wrath.

What is going one now in Syria is a regime clinging to its power in madness, and not a planned course of action. This is evident by the random killings targeting children, infants and arrests of whole families.

Damascus
The administration of Adra prison is forbidding access to the first wing and is banning visiting the detainees that are on hunger estrike. It should be kept in mind
that over 120 of Daraa’s detainees are in the central Damascus prison and started and open-ended hunger strike on Friday.

Idlib
Turki Horani and Yahya Abdo Horani were martyred, more than 10 people were injured, some of them severely, following the storming of Binnish and Samarein by security and military forces. Security forces cut the way between the two villages, random gunfire is still ongoing.

Around 1,000 protesters took off at Al-Thawra Street in Daraya chanting for toppling the regime and chanting in support of Hama, Deir Ezzor and the other cities undergoing the military attacks. Governmental forces used tear gas to break the demonstration.
