Ghouta Sharqiya a Disaster Area
The Assad Regime Leads our Ghouta to Destruction
For the fourth consecutive day, most areas of Eastern Ghouta suffered from the complete siege and closure of the city, with an unprecedented spread of security forces and campaigns of sabotage and harassment to the area and it’s people after days of sustained brutal bombing that killed dozens.
We confirm, based on facts, that most victims are civilians who were killed or wounded in the indiscriminate shelling or revenge attacks by the security forces and the regime’s army.
Various services continue to be disrupted in Eastern Ghouta including electricity, water, and communications as well as a scarcity of heating fuel and basic food items. Revenge attacks continue against families with the destruction and looting of personal property in homes, commercial shops, and other locations.
This attack on the neighborhood led to the emigration of many of the people to neighboring areas in very difficult weather and living conditions.
We call for the declaration of the neighborhood of Eastern Ghouta as a disaster area and we appeal to the Red Cross and the Red Crescent and all relevent international organizations to go to the area and provive relief for its people with food, medicine, and shelter and to pressure the criminal regime to stop its ongoing crimes against our people in Eastern Ghouta and various neighborhoods and villages. We will not abandon our homes and our land. The Assad regime and his executioners are the ones who will leave our country.
Victory to our revolution and mercy upon the souls of our righteous martyrs
