Local Coordination Committees in Syria
With the end of Tuesday, the Local Coordination Committees were able to confirm 237 martyrs, including 15 children and 10 women. 99 martyrs wre reported in Aleppo, most of them due to the shelling of the University; 65 in Homs most of them in Houla and Hasouba, 31 in Damascus and its Suburbs, 17 in Hama, 15 in Daraa, 6 in Idlib, 2 in Deir Ezzor and 2 in Raqqa.

The Local Coordination Committees also documented 351 point that were targeted by shells across Syria, including 24 points that were shelled by warplanes, 5 point using cluster bombs,1 point with barrel bombs, 138 points using mortar, 120 points with heavy caliber artillery and 62 using rockets and missiles.

The Free Syrian Army clashed with the regime forces in 143 locations. After fierce clashes the regime army withdrew from Maadan in Raqqa which is now under the control of the Free Syrian Army. The Free Syrian Army shelled few locations used by Shabbiha agents near the western entrance of the town. In Yadouda, the Free Syrian Army encircled the checkpoint located on the intersection of the town and destroyed several regime vehicles. In Sbeina in Damascus Suburbs the Free Syrian Army attacked the Sikka regime checkpoint; they also managed to successfully take over the Customs Administration headquarters in Deir Atieh where they seized ammunition. In Damascus the Free Syrian Army targeted the regime’s checkpoint located in Tubet Dummar. It was also reported that several soldiers defected from the regime’s army in Aleppo and Deir Ezzor

Aleppo: Today, Aleppo lost 95 civilians, raising the city’s total toll to 5193. Today’s massacre brought back to memory the pioneer student demonstrations that started in the ” University of Revolution”. The majority of today’s martyrs come from this university, where the first student movement in Syria took place, they were all students sitting for their first day of final exams. In Aleppo, 463 young boys and 216 young girls have been killed since the beginning of the revolution.

Homs: Houla: Renewed artillery shelling was reported in the city, and 5 shells have landed thus far

Daraa: Tafas: Several were wounded and residential houses were destroyed due to the shellling in the city using rocket launchers

Damascus: Doummar: A complete power outage was reported in the neighborhood, this comes as regime forces manning checkpoints renewed their gunfire

Damascus: Hajar Al-Aswad: Regime forces resumed shelling in the area using rocket launchers and mortars

Hama: Fierce shelling, both artillery and rocket, is targeting the cities and towns in the northern suburbs

Damascus Suburbs: Qudsaya: Two powerful explosions shook the city and were accompanied by heavy gunfire from heavy weapons

Daraa: Yadouda: Regime forces renewed their artillery shelling in the town, in conjunction with heavy gunfire

Hama: Al-Asharna: Heavy gunfire by the regime’s shabbiha was reported in Salhab city. The gunfire targeted the village, which is full of refugees from Jisr Al-Asharna

Damascus Suburbs: Bweda: Heavy shelling using mortar by regime forces from Brigade 58 is reported in the town

Hama: Kafrzeta: Heavy artillery and rocket shelling by regime forces ,manning Abu Shafiq checkpoint in the eastern side of the town, is reported in the town

Daraa: Bsr al-Hareer: The Free Syrian Army shells groups of shabiha at the western entry of the city

Daraa: Tafas: Heavy artillery shelling is reported in the city where tens of shells landed so far, residents are in a state of panic

Hama: Al-Latamna: Renewed shelling by artillery and rocket launchers on the city

Damascus: Strong explosion shakes Revolution Street and the adjacent neighborhoods and a large fire starts near the Ministry of Social Affairs in the middle of Damascus

Damascus Suburbs: Daraya: Several cases of choking were reported at field hospitals after surface-to-surface missile attacks that left foul odors in the area
