A Massacre in Kafar Nabodeh
Another Crime in the Regime’s Teeming Record
Feb. 16, 2012, around 10 a.m. on Thursday, during the random shelling campaign on the town of Kafar Naboudeh, a car filled with a several defected soldiers was targeted by a shell from an armored vehicle, while it was passing through a commercial street near a Bakery that people usually gather around. The car contained explosives; all seven soldiers riding inside were killed instantly while several others were wounded, including deaths among civilians in the area.
Passersby approached the car to rescue the wounded when the regime targeted them with artillery shells, which led to the fall of more martyrs, and many serious injuries including amputations.
In the initial outcome of civilians wounded in the massacre was around 25 which were transported to a nearby hospital, however, the hospital was unable to accommodate everyone, leading to further deaths. Only three cases were admitted to the OR and they were later martyred due to their severe wounds and shortage of medical supplies. The remainder of the wounded were taken to other hospitals, despite their injuries, they were later checked out by family members amid fears of security forces raiding the hospitals and arresting them.
