We are a group from Daraa and it surrounding areas, detained in the Damascus central prison between 29 April 2011 and now. By the time this statement is published, our numbers have reached 121 detainee with criminal charges that include:
1- Weakening the sense of nationalism
2- Forming armed groups to attack cities and rape women
3- Seeking the independence of parts of the Syrian territories
4- Attacking the integrity of the government
5- Being members of armed terrorist groups
Since all of these accusations are without any real basis and thus illegal, we are starting an open-ended hunger strike in 29 July until the following demands are met.
1- Dealing and finalizing our legal cases within days from now.
2- The release of all the above mentioned detainees
signed: the detainees of Daraa and its surroundings
