In the name of Allah the Merciful,

Peace be upon the prophet Mohammad and on his family and companions and on who follows his path to the Day of Judgement.

Furthermore: This is a declaration by the people of the city of Hama to the ruling system in Syria and all the Arabic and international nations and the international organizations and the human rights organizations.

What our beloved country is passing through is nothing but a dawn after which the sun of freedom and justice and honor and equality will rise. And we, the people of Hama, clarify the following points in this declaration:

1. All the protests that we have held and that we – God willing – will hold are peaceful demonstrations. No smashing or burning or breaking occurred in them to public or private property. All destructive actions were performed by the security forces and the shabiha (armed gangs supporting the government) that accompanied the security forces, and we have proof of that through video footage and eyewitnesses.

2. Despite the crackdown of our peaceful protests by shooting live bullets and using all kinds of torture and harassment of the protesters and despite the arbitrary imprisonment and the torture and the nightly raids and despite the torture of the detainees and the destruction of property we cannot be stopped from our peaceful protest and our request of freedom and justice and the falling of the regime.

3. All delegations that left from Hama and that the lying official media has depicted as delegations representing the people of Hama, were but delegations fabricated by the security forces and do not speak in behalf of the people of Hama and do only speak for themselves.

4. We declare the that the accusation of the official Syrian media that the people of Hama asked for the Syrian Armed Forces to enter the city of Hama to fight the Salafist gangs and saboteurs are but lies and hypocrisy. And we say: This city has experience with the entrance of the army and thus we point out that we do not want the army in the city under any circumstance. And the people of the Hader (part of the city) most of all are forced by the security forces to sign a petition for the army to enter.

5. Answering the invitation by the Syrian Press Minister concerning the national dialogue with the opposition, we say “No dialogue with us, until the fulfillment of the following demands”:

a. The release of all political prisoners and all prisoners of conscience, and especially the women amongst those

b. The right of return of all expatriates without any conditions or repression

c. Information on the fate of the people that went missing without any information about them

d. Breaking the siege on all besieged cities and retreating the army from them and the return of the army to its regular stations

e. Halting all acts of killing and harassment and the retreat of the security forces from all peaceful assemblies and demonstrations

And lastly, a stand in the honor of our righteous martyrs that sacrificed their lives for our freedom and honor reached the highest levels of bravery and heroism in their struggle.
