This is a call from the Sawa Youth Coalition to take to the streets in a protest, it has been more than 3 months since the youth have begun protesting in Syria and the Syrian regime remains to be stubborn and brutal in its stance by resorting to the ‘security solution’. This creates more chaos and division on the inside and opens the door to all the worse possiblities. Crackdown on peaceful protests, attacking cities and towns with heavy artillery and shedding Syrian blood on Syrian soil, along with all the arrests and the Shabiha (regime thugs) attacking the streets to create fear only creates more grudge and hatred amongst the Syrian youth. Martyr Orhan Nagy Mohammad Hussein was another victim of betrayal and brutality by the Syrian regime, shot in the head with a single bullet. According to the Syrian authorities ‘he was shot on guard duty in the military barracks and died an hour later in the hospital’; their version of the story raises doubt. Moreover, to condemn all the killing and crimes committed against the Syrian people, specifically the Kurds. Therefore, we call for all the people of Qamishlu to a massive civil protest on Thursday 23/6/2011 starting from Dawwar al-Sawame’ (Suez Canal) and ending at the ‘Antariyyah Cemetery at exactly 7 pm.
We protest to reaffirm our peaceful demands for legitimate rights and condemn massacres committed by the regime in Qamishlu, Amouda, Aleppo, Hama, Daraa, Homs, Lattakia, Deir Ezzor, Idlib, Jisr El-Shoghour, and every Syrian city/town at which residents were terrorized by the regime. We demand siege on Syrian cities and towns to be lifted, and murder & vandalism to stop.
God bless the souls of the martyrs.
Freedom for all prisoner of conscious.
Long live free Syria.
