Tens out of hundreds of detained people due to the last events in Syria in Central Prison of Adra have started a hunger strike since the evening of Saturday protesting the continual of their detention despite a number of amnesty decrees by the president and many promises to release them.
Detainees were interrogated for many weeks in the basements of security centers of many types before they got detain orders or accusations from civil or military justice system, most of them had been tortured in many ways, which contradicts with the lifting of state of emergency a month ago, here is a preliminary list of names for prisoners who started the hunger strike (political activists, media people, protesters):

- Mazen Oudai, civil engineer (consultant), Damascus, 58, married, political oppositionist who did phone interviews as an eye witness during March and April to media outlets such as BBC, Orient TV, Aljazeera TV, AlArabiya.
- Amjad Biazi, media, London, 30, Single, PhD student in media in Britain, accused of engaging in activities to support the Syrian opposition
- Housam Aswad, dentist, Damascus, 35, married, accused of participating in protests and working in a field hospital in AlMidan-Damascus
- Hashem Abd Alkarim Ghazaleh, emplyee in Damascus, Daraa, 30, married, called the BBC as an eye witness for the events he witnessed in AlSanamen under the fake name Abou Ammar.
- Rateb Alzou’bi, employee, Daraa, 25, — ,participating in protests and calling the BBC once.
- Adnan Alkadiri, School teacher and Imam,Kahil - Daraa, 60, — , Encoraging and participating in protests.
- Basem AlHiraki, self employed, Daraa, 40, Married, Encoraging and participating in protests.
- Ahmed Mousleh, school teacher, Bousra, 35, Married, Encoraging and participating in protests.
- Ahmed Askar, Industry (Plastic Factory owner), Hirak-Daraa, 38, Married, Encoraging and participating in protests.
- Mounir NasrAllah, Artisan, Nawa-Daraa, 45, Married, Encoraging and participating in protests.
- Anas Hawash, Self employed, Alharra, 50, Married, his son was killed by security forces

- Sourour AlRifa’i, Imam, Bousra, 30, Married, Encoraging protests.
Additionally, Dr. Kamal AlLabouwani, the prominent opposition figure, joined the hunger strike on Saturday evening. Dr. AlLabouwani (Zabadani - Damascus) was arrested 6 years ago and is serving a sentence of twelve years in Adra central prison.
