Samer Afander is the first Martyr in Madaya today
Bullets sound and Zawahiri are taking syria to war state; however, our revolution is peaceful
As a part of the campaign to pressure on the residents on the besieged cities: Douma (Damascus suburbs), Homs, Zabadani (Damascus suburbs) and Lattakia, army troops started to deploy to block the entrances, paralyze the movement and open fire to intimidate residents so security forces can wage detention campaigns without facing any gathering or resistance from the residents, these campaigns included other cities like Salamyeh (Hama) which have a long history of many political ideologies which are still active and turned into a popular opposition movement.
Zabadani today brings back to memory what happened in Rastan (Homs) 2 months ago and in Banias (Tartous) 3 months ago also, as activists were being chased to the jungles and mountains and got shot randomly, then dissolved bodies got found days and weeks after that.
Dier Ezzor have been witnessing daily demonstrations and sit-ins in the main square for 6 weeks and demonstrations of hundreds of thousands every Friday in all areas in the governorate, security forces came back to the city after the army retreated about month ago, they were deployed in the central areas without performing any operation, the mayor threatened the residents and the Baath party delegate failed to make the residents give up their demand to topple the regime, now there are preparations for an operation which may be as big as operations in Homs and Idlib.
Regarding the attempts of extremist groups to find a role in the revolution, even a media-only one, we stated that these attempts are so far from the orientation of the peaceful national revolution, which reject sectarianism, and for sure don’t suit Al-Qaeda ideology and practices. These statements by Al-Qaeda serve the regime and give them a pretext which they were looking for to justify the terror against the unarmed people, and we remind that similar statements appeared during the revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya and has no effect on the people, who knows what they want and understand their rights and goals.
We thank everyone who express their support to the people demands and stand against the repressive people on humanitarian grounds.
